All of our staff hold Master’s Level Social Work degrees, and are all registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. Each counselor has a passion for helping others and has extensive experience in the human services field. Individual, Couple and Family Counselling

We provide counselling services to children, adolescents and adults who may seek help for a variety of reasons including; relationship issues, trauma, abuse, grief and loss, parent-child conflict, self-harm, anxiety, emotional regulation, depression, eating disorders, substance abuse, PTSD, domestic violence, work and sports performance.

Our staff utilize a variety of tools to treat these issues including cognitive behavioural therapy, solution focused therapy, meditation, emotion focused therapy, exercise, play therapy, outdoor recreation, narrative therapy, art/music therapy, sensory-based activities and EMDR.

Trauma Therapy

Our staff utilize Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) which is an integrative psychotherapy approach that has been extensively researched and proven effective to diminish the symptoms associated with traumatic experiences for children and adults. EMDR is a set of standardized protocols that incorporates elements from many different treatment approaches. Play Therapy

Play therapy is a form of therapy offered for our clients aged 4-12 years old. Play is used as a therapeutic technique to allow children to express and resolve psychosocial challenges. Play therapy is beneficial for a child that is experiencing emotional and behavioural difficulties in various settings in their lives including school, community and home. This form of therapy has been proven effective to help children achieve success and improvements in social integration, emotional regulation, trauma resolution and in their growth and development.   Read More

Critical Incident Debriefing

Individual Crisis Intervention [Peer Support] & Group Crisis Intervention is a specialized acute emergency mental health intervention which requires specialized training. As physical first aid is to surgery, crisis intervention is to psychotherapy. Thus, crisis intervention is sometimes called “emotional first aid”.

This intervention is utilized in a variety of fields including; Business & Industry, Crisis Intervention, Disaster Response, Education, Emergency Services, Mental Health, Military, Spiritual Care, and Traumatic Stress.   Read More

 Outreach Counselling

Our counselling services are offered throughout the Sarnia/Lambton region and can also be accessed throughout the Middlesex community. We also offer some services via video conferencing. Please call us to inquire if outreach services can be provided to you and your family.

Community Programming

Our team is working towards developing and facilitating programming in the community that will be free of cost and that will be accessible to all residents of Sarnia/Lambton and area.

We are also motivated to build relationships and a larger network with other service providers in the region to meet the needs of the community and are open to collaboration, research, sponsoring, event participation and consultation.

We are currently running a ‘Walking with Grief’ group that is open to individuals who have lost a loved one and are experiencing symptoms of grief. The group combines peer support and physical activity as a way to promote healing.   See More
